Mushroom Hike October 2010

Wild Mushroom Hike in Kamakura 2010

In late October the weather wasn't holding up so we were lucky to find a window in the afternoon to search for wild mushrooms in the afternoon.

We found several lines of Hatake Shigeji
(Hedge mushrooms) along one path but not much else.

A few garden varieties but it's all about the 'timing!'

Kudos have to go out to Ann who tried the hardest. Diving right into the sticky grass and coming out with a collection of seedlings!
More Kudos should go aout to Angelle who did her best to 'shake up' things and get the best fortune possible at Zenniarai Temple(the money washing temple)

Video added: You tube Umeboshisensei/Zenniarai temple wash

We roasted (only) the edible mushrooms ans had a picnic in the field.

Lucky for us the rain let up and we could enjoy some Japanese sweets. Those are Kuzu noodles which are dipped in a sweet, blackened cane sugar syrup.
Anita got slimed!
Thank you all for coming!
